Micro-Ed Behavior I've Never Understood, Indenting an entire paragraph

For YEARS, I've struggled with the best way to indent an entire paragraph using the The Bats! MicroEd editor.

For example:

If I want to type two paragraphs, where the entire second paragraph is indented, the only way that I know to do it is to put a blank line between each line of text in the second paragraph, then go back an manually indent each line and then manually remove each blank line.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me if there is a better/easier way to indent an entire paragraph so it looks like this:

====================================

This is the first paragraph that auto
wraps like this.

.....This is the second paragraph.
.....Don't pay any attention to the
.....dots, it's the only way I could
.....display and indented para.

This is third paragraph.

=====================================

Thanks,

Ron

If I understand you correctly, you can set your preferred behaviour at:
Options -> Preferences -> Viewer/Editor -> Editor preferences -> MicroEd-specific options -> Disable 'Auto-format' and Enable 'Justify on wraps' and 'Smart tabs'

I tried the options you suggested but they did not change the behavior.  I then tried several other option selections and none of those worked either.

It seems like I should be able to indent the first line of a paragraph and then the next lines would automatically indent. Until such time as I inserted a blank line.

For the life of me, I can not configure The Bat! to automatically indent and entire paragraph.

Well, it works for me, so it should work for you too.
At the same location I've enabled most options and disabled the following: 'Auto format', 'Preserve trailing spaces', 'Persistent selection', 'Block insert caret', 'Brief caret shapes' and 'Double space between sentences'.

I wrap text at 70 characters and the 'quote name limit' is at the silly 20 characters default.

I don't have most of the options that you mention.  I am using version 3.99.29

Could you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? I didn't realize that this screen had changed in v4.

Microed setting was changed, there are new options added to Preferences dialog.

Disable the 'auto-format' and enable 'smart tabs', but I think the 'auto-format' will suffice.

I did as you suggested but the behavior is unchanged. When indent the first line of a paragraph, when The Bat wraps, the text starts at the first position, not indented. I can manually tab each line of the paragraph but I would like The Bat to do it automatically.

Hah, I figured it out!!!!

With "Auto Indent" and "Auto Wrap" as the only two options, The Bat does exactly as I wanted.

Just think, I've been using The Bat for YEARS and I just figured this out!!!  Gotta' love it!!
