Threads not ending with 4.0.18, Some threads seem to be orphaned

I occasionally saw similar behavior with other versions but it is occurring more frequently.

Usually is is just one process that prevents quitting The Bat! but right now if I try to quit there are four tasks active that are:

Storing messages for "Spencer"

I can try to shutdown gracefully within a time period but they seem to never end.  After the alloted time it tries to process the folders.

Sometimes it does seem to partially close and I can hit the closing X again to close the window.  This time, however, it is unresponsive.  Task manager shows no current CPU usage or additional IO by The Bat.

I can kill the process with task manager and everything is fine.

I am not sure if it is related (or maybe a cause) but sometimes I notice the during mail retrieval there seems to be a thread that deletes the messages off the server.  Sometimes the deletes stop occurring and the download speed increases but the task never completes and I have to restart it.  So if I don't see an occasional delete occurring during the download and the download speed is abnormally high, I may abort the task and restart it.

Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any ideas?

Try 2 things:
Run the maintenance center under ACCOUNT menu then go to your email folder via windows explorer and there is one named CACHE. Delete ALL the files in it.

Now go close the bat and see if there is any difference

I have done what you suggested but the problem is not easy to reproduce.  Even before doing what you suggested The Bat was working fine.

It is only an occasional problem, that seems to occur while receiving emails.  I get all the misaddressed emails at my domain, so I receive over 6000 emails a day.
When I check my email in the morning there can be various interruptions and the problem seems like it might be related to aborting the task that gets the email.

Once the problem occurs, I don't necessarily notice it until I try to close The Bat which shows that there is a task running and it gives me the option to try to shutdown gracefully within a time period.

Usually The Bat work flawlessly.
