Zone Antivirus/Antispam with The Bat! ???

Can't find any documentation on this question.

I understand that various antivirus/antispam plugins are available.

But I have Zone's Security Suite installed.  Can (or is) Zone checking email received/sent through TB! for viruses?

And can it filter junk emails within TB?

Thanks much.

I use Zone Alarm security suite. If you turn email scanning ON it will SLOW down your system. It installs a junkmail feature into outlook and outlook express but not the bat. Don't worry, you're not missing much 8)

If you want a good plug in for the Bat that handles junk mail, I use ANtispamSniper. There is one called antispam SERVANT and don't bother with it as it is ad driven and installs its adware even if you pay

Rick, thanks.

Sounds like I definitely need the AntiSpamSniper plugin for the junk mail piece.

One clarifying question on the antivirus side: I already have Zone email scanning turned on (it's what I use with OL) and it doesn't slow my system down.

But I can't tell from your reply whether its antivirus features work with Bat or not (ignoring possible performance issues)?

Could you clarify?  I'd much appreciate it!

I am trying to remember as I have had it shut off for so long. It will pop up if you open an infected (say) zip WITHOUT having email protection turned on but if you have it turned on I believe it will rename harmful files (like zips) which make it a pain it the armpit to work with.

I may not be remembering correctly so if someone else chimes in ...

the point is to use common sense with email attachements and turn off any anti-something scans on email.
It will cause problems or slow downs no matter what email program you use... (moste anti-virus/spam will just scan the email ports for malicious files, no matter what program you use and thus will work with TB!)
