Leaving filtered SPAM on server

I understand that The Bat would need to know what is SPAM before it can delete it from the server.

Yahoo, now automatically filters SPAM into a Junk folder.
So The Bat no longer needs to figure out what is SPAM anymore with Yahoo Mail.

Having said that, how can I configure The Bat to *leave* the mail the on the server that has been placed into the Junk folder, and not download it?

I'm not asking The Bat to delete SPAM from the server. I'm simply asking how to configure The Bat so that it only downloads messages that are in the 'In Box'.

TIA

if yahoo provides all the messages for download when you connect via pop3, I don't think you can do something in theBat, as it's probably not possible for it to detect which messages are displayed in the Spam folder when you use the web interface.
Maybe you can change something in your yahoo account so that only messages from web inbox are provided for pop3 download.

Thanks Bigg one.

I went inside Yahoo's mail site and found a setting that does the trick.
I had the Spam folder setting set to hold the mail for 30 days.

I changed it to delete the messages immediately and they are no longer downloaded now by The Bat.

I do not use Yahoo, but any half-decent e-mail provider has an option to "hide a spam folder from the POP3 access", at least Gmail and Mail.ru do so.

you really shouldn't set yahoo or any other mail provider to delete spam right away. NO spam filter is 100% perfect. You will lose legit mail at some point. Even though Gmail's spam filter works almost flawlessly for me, I always look through the spam every 5 days or so. Especially when you sign up on a website/forum the welcome messages tend to wandr into the spam folder.
It's better to use a anti spam plugin for TB!

Yeah, that's my problem. I'm using Rogers-Yahoo and they're not half-decent unfortunately.  :(

Hi Dominik,

Which anti-spam plugin for TB would you recommend?
