backup files, can i delete them without problem

Hi there

My message base is several gigabytes (over about 12 different accounts) and I notice in most folders there are messages.bck as well as messages.tbb (and even the odd messages.bk0)

Can these files be deleted to save space?  Or are the essential to the operation of the bat - eg overflow files.  (My PC does crash quite often, sometimes when the bat is open, so I always run a check from maintenance centre afterwards)

Regards
Alan

the only files that matter are .tbb - these are message bases, and .tbi, maybe.
Not sure what other files are for, I've never seen such. You may check with Filemon if theBat accesses them, I doubt.

I would backup the entire mail folder, just in case. Then delete all these files.

Thanks for reply - the files were last modified back in 2006, so I guess then they are not needed!

Cheers
Alan
