The Bat Suxors

I can send email via POP3 from Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird without any troubles. However when I try to use The Bat, it fails...
:(
it seems that it is not authenticating even though I have checked the box auth before, and gave it the specific credentials.

>I can send email via POP3

usually one receives email via POP3 and sends via SMTP.
Make sure you haven't messed pop and smtp authentication settings, they could be different.
If you can't send, try checking 'Use POP before SMTP..' box.

Check your firewall settings

Enable protocol logging
Acc. Properties -> Transport -> Protocol logging
and see the logs. Note that logs contain login passwords as plain text

Looking at the logs and comparing them to Thunderbird, it seems that I am not authenticating with NTLM. I do not see the option to use that.

Does The Bat support NTLM auth?

yes.
See pop authentication settings - check MSN(NTLM)

That is not available on the version I have. I just downloaded the Pro version.
Do I need to register?

I use v.3.85.
Don't know for v.4.x but I doubt that NTLM is dropped, or that you have to register theBat use it.

Maybe someone who uses v.4 can help.

In account properties go to
TRANSPORT / RECEIVE MAIL and press the AUTHENTICATION button

The second item down is MSN (NTLM) Select the radio button
I am using v4.0.28.4 a minor beta version.

And Girac, starting a thread where you need assistance with the name "The Bat Suxors" is neither polite nor does it inspire people to want to help
