TB suddenly stopped working - Help, TB V3 now drops connection when starting transfer from mail server

The Bat V 3.0.1.33
WinXP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2
Any attempt to download messages from the mail server by hitting the Start Transfer button causes the connection to be dropped.
Similarly, the connection will time out and drop if leftfor a minute or so. This problem suddenly started happening with version 3.0 and reinstalling/upgrading to 3.0.1.33 has made no difference. I cannot receive emails at all now.

I do not get this problem with my other installation of version 3.0. which continues to work well on exactly the same email accounts.

Disabling all filewall and Norton Antivirus makes no difference.

These are the log messages:

10/12/2004, 11:36:35: FETCH - 8 messages in the mailbox, 8 new
!10/12/2004, 11:36:35: FETCH - Connection to host broken (last commands sent were: "NOOP", "RETR 1")

Any help much appreciate before my business goes bust!

Finally solved it - sort of. It seems that the most recent Norton IS download has significantly affected the way it works with email - at least with regards to TB. Only by disabling Norton AV email scanning (both in and out)within the options settings can I get TB to work. Needless to say, this somewhat defeats the point of AV protection. Solution? I'm currently evaluating a professional AV solution (Sophos) and ditching the dreadful Norton-we-give-you-no-support-solution.
