Is it possible to store client outgoing msgs in server?

Hi,

I am to choose an e-mail software which is capable of many things. So far The Bat seems a perfect choice, but there is a final point needs to be clarified.

We have a server and around 20 client computers. I think it is possible to distribute mails to clients and have them reply those e-mails. What I wonder, if it is possible to store our clients' replies in server as well. For example we have 4 support personnel, who monitor the same support account. When a support e-mail is replied or it is parked, all 4 personnel should be aware, as well as they shall see the reply. I hope I can make my point.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I searched and found nothing.

TIA & my best regards,

Aziz

Sure, that can be done.
You can configure TB to BCC every message you're witing to the address you're using for storage on the server. You do that by adding the %BCC="some address" macro to all of your templates.
This doesn't have to be the optimum solution, because the optimum solution depends on the protocol you're using, your server and the way you've configured it.
It also depends on how you want to store your messages on the server.

Roelof,

Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate your help.

Honestly, I don't think BCC will work for us, I guess we need active & live communication between TB server and TB client. For instance, let's say our support account is suport@mycompany.com. 4 personnel is monitoring that account at the same time. When customer1@somehost.com sends e-mail to suport@mycompany.com, one of the support personnel will park to answer it. The other 3 will see it is parked so no action is necessary and continue to next e-mail.

Each support personnel should see e-mail history (both received and sent), so we can make support process independent of a personnel. If customer1@somehost.com replies to replied support e-mail, some other personnel may carry on.

Maybe it is possible to share TB's data folders to clients and refresh TB clients frequently. But I am afraid that sharing folders may lead data corruption.

Any ideas?

TIA & my best regards,

Aziz

In that case IMAP is the protocol for you, depends on your server whether you can use the same account from multiple clients simultaneously.
