Every version I have ever owned came with an update for Xmas.  

Now V3 does not have an update, too many bugs?  Not enough time?  Is The Bat dying off?

Need motivation?

I have seen no update or work done on a newer version recently.. this worries me!!!

(One hell of a loyal BAT owner is concerned!)

I use to feel this way regarding TheBat! during all the hoopla/outrage regarding the upgrade to version 3 back in September but after giving several other fairly popular email clients an honest try, I have come back and no longer let myself worry about such tedious stuff...   :D

Although I too was hoping for the cool XMas upgrade again (with the logo), it seems they are now doing less frequent but larger updates than the consistent point releases us loyal users are used to. The tech industry/internet have gotten people spoiled with quick updates and patches of our favorite software but not all follow that philosophy. I feel like TheBat! is fine wine, already better than other wines and is slowly getting better with age. You crave the proactive updates and sense of newness, go play with Linux...


I LOVE my TheBAT! and pray to email gods I am never forced to swtich (and I barely use probably 1/4 of its features).

There is a major rework of some UI functionality in progress. This was not completed in time for an Xmas release. We are expecting a new beta soon, although there is no support or space for discussion of beta issues on the forums.

This scares me a bit. One of the reasons TheBat is SO good is it's simplicity of UI and easy on the eyes look. Hopefully this just means some improvements to the Icon Bar and such and not a whole new look is coming.

Thanks for updating us with the information.

I am currently using the latest beta, but that is dated Nov as well.
