Headers in mailboxes, Removing headers from mailbox file

Hi,

I've just swapped to The Bat to try it out - looks good so far.  Anyway - since I've been changing e-mail clients  quite a bit recently - I wanted to clean up the header information which other clients have put in.

Firstly - can I edit the TBB files using a text editor - or is there binary information which will screw them up?  In this case I guess I would export as Mbox edit, then import again.

Secondly - which header information does The Bat add in itself in the use of this program?  The answer might be none where and it just keeps extra info in the TBI (such as replied to etc).

Thanks very much,
Julian

You can't edit the .tbb files, that would mess up the .tbi files. Besides, it looks like there's some digital info at the start start of each message and I don't know how that reacts to text editors.

Exporting and afterwards importing works fine. AMOF that's the only way to add/delete headers in received messages with TB.

TB doesn't add any headers to incoming messages, nor does it alter them. Nor has it any tools to edit the body of received messages. Only way to do that is to export (and delete) the original message, edit the exported file and import it again.
Actually it's so strict on that issue that some users consider that as a disadvantage. You can add a memo though, that's stored in the .tbi file.
