Registration and Version Questions

I am using the evaluation edition of The Bat. I would like to purchase it, but had a couple of questions.

Probably the only reason I would consider the Pro version, is the built in spell checker, since that seems to be the main difference. The web site says that you can download the spell checker for the Home edition, but doesn't say where to do this.

Also, I see that the purchase option through Paypal requires you to sign up for a Paypal account. Is that the only way to get that price, because Paypal has been known to steal peoples money, I don't want an account. (see paypalsucks.com).

Finally, if I purchase the Home or Pro version, at the student price, what is required to prove you are a student?

Thanks,
Phil

The main difference between the Pro and Home version is not the spell checker, but some privacy issues like an encrypted message base and support of hardware tokens. The language files that aren't included in install version of the Home edition can downloaded separately.

AFAIK there's no proof needed that you're a student, but I've never tried to register as such, so I'm not sure about that. Neither is any proof needed that you're a private person in stead of using The Bat! professionally.

Thanks very much. I just purchased the program. I have really become attached to the features. I especially like the mail ticker  :D

Can you direct me to where I can download the language files for the spell checker.  All I see on the download page is the International Pack, and the PGP plugins. Are either of those the correct download to get the spell checker?

International Pack = language files for the spell checker
