4.2.18 won't load

Nor sure what's up here, but 4.2.18 will not load.. tried 3 times..

never had this problem before!

first i says Error 1305 Error reading fr om fileto make sure the file exists.. Oddly, the file is not wh ere it thinks it is supposed to be.

Then if i download and save it to a folder, it then errors out on that after a few seconds.

whats up with this? been usiing the bat forever and it's never failed to install.

What version were you running before?
Not sure what your problem is. Did the msi quit running and is it still your old version that's installed or did the msi run without apparent problems and is it TB itself that doesn't run.
How did you install? Uninstall the previous version or install the new versuion on top of the old version (the latter is preferred)
Did you rename the msi?

Running .14.
The msi failed 10 secs into install.  It didn't affect the current version. It's still.14.
I installed as always.. downloaded and ran the msi.. over the old version.
didn't change name.

I've installed lots of previous ver's without any issue.

I've tried re-downloading, and that didn't help.. same error. moved the file, didn't help.

So, i'm still on .14.

thanks

get LessMSI and unpack the .msi
Then manually replace thebat.exe with the newer version.

I thought of doing that.. But the  geek in me figured they'd want to know why it's not loading properly when i've never had a problem before.

I don't know if it's a win 7 issue or something else, but the laptop has a clean install of 7 so i doubt that's the problem.

.14 isn't a huge problem for me, so i figured i'd wait til .19 comes out and see if that solves it which could mean there was something funky packed in there..

just to update myself..

i found my desktop still had an old ver so i just ran .18 without any problems.. desktop is xp pro.

laptop is win 7.. don't know if that's a clue or not..

you may then rename thebat.exe on the laptop and copy the .18 version desktop -> laptop
You can undo this at any time and test installing .19 over when it comes out.
I myself always prefer to update important for me apps in an easy controllable & reversible way. So I just unpack msi's and do it manually.
