Deleting ALL reference to an email address

I have done this, but question: When composing a new email and selecting the "to" field, how do I prevent this particular email address from appearing in the pop-open window of previously used addresses? (I need to make sure I never use a particular email address by accident, so I want it gone for good, so accidents don't occur.
