help ;( my email accounts and mail have vanished, the program shows blank entries

well, i've been using the bat for 5 years now, but have never seen anything like this...  i have my mail database on a truecrypt partition, i've done this for years. this morning, with the partition mounted and the bat open, i hard shutdown the computer, i didnt think it would hurt anything (never has) but this evening when i booted the system and mounted the truecrypt volume, then opened the bat - all my accounts and mail are gone, the program just has blank entries where the accounts were.

now i checked the email directory on the partition, and the files are all still there, also i checked my other files on the same partition, and everything is ok with them, this seems just to be a problem with the bat, its not a partition corruption issue. i tried deleting the "rit" entry in the registry and retrying, but it didnt help. has my email database become corrupted, and if so is there anything i can do to repair it? unfortunately, i don't have a backup of my emails...

any thoughts are most welcome, thanks in advance

Well, without any corruption things should be fine when you delete the rit entry in the registry (with TB shut down of course) and restarting TB and pointing it to your mail directory.

When you mention blank entries, does that mean that you've got nothing or that you still see some ccount structures, but no folder names etc.
In case you see nothing, you consider creating new accounts with the same name as the remnants on your disk. TB should recognise those accounts. Just in case, you'd better copy your mail directory to a safe location, before you start to reclaim things.

Roelof Otten, thanks for your reply, the "rit" entry is located at  hkey current user/software/rit , right? thats the entry i deleted. i just see many blank lines where the email accounts should be listed, along with the default folders: inbox, sent etc. i can try adding the accounts again - thanks again for the advice.

for anyone out there that is experienced with using the bat, in this screenshot of my email directory, are there any files/folders which dont belong there, and that may be causing the bat to behave as shown in my previous screenshot? i have moved the folders with the names of my email accounts to a subfolder for privacy. if everything looks ok in the main email directory, then the problem must be in the folders of each email account themselves.

any help is appreciated! please take a look:
