Where is the log file?, account log file

I'm having server trouble: I can receive mail, but not send it.
When I check account > view log
the entry reads " 17-Aug-10, 18:14:50: SEND  - Some messages were not sent - check the log for details"
Great. That really helps.
Where can I actually see what might be causing the problem?

I checked my ISP. Everything on their side is okay. I checked my hoster. Same story.
Sunday I had the same problem. After checking the above I restarted my DSL router/modem, and could work again. This time it doesn't work.

The log file can be found in the account directory.
But it won't tell you more then what you've already seen.
A better option is to enable protocol logging:
Account -> Properties -> Transport -> Protocol logging
Enable the smtp logging and you can set the place for the log file yourself. That will show all communication between server and client.

I did that, for both smtp and pop3. Pop3 works, but that wasn't the problem. The smtp log remains empty.

If the smtp log stays empty that means that you don't try to send something or that you don't connect to a server so that there's nothing to log.

The smtp log doesn't work, but I got an error message through <horror>Outlook Express</hororor>

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'yyy', Server: 'mail.xxxxx.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Got the problem licked. It must be the ISP. They won't admit it, but it isn't my hoster, my settings are okay. And now it all of a sudden works again.
