Image Download Manager

I have just downloaded version 5.08 of the Home version.  Is there any way to configure the Image Download Manager to accept all image downloads in every e-mail?  I find it works very irregularly:  I can set it to download all URLs and it works for two or three messages but then doesn't work for any others.  I have tried setting in in each of my three accounts, on several messages, etc., but it doesn't seem to hold the setting across e-mails -- even for e-mails from the same sender.

If it must be set for every e-mail individually, I don't see what it adds to the old feature to open a message in a browser.

Thanks for your help.

do You have mode "Allow all" selected?

Under Tools/Image Download Manager, I have "Download All" checked.  I'm afraid I haven't found "Allow all" or "mode."  Is that different?

Open the download manager and check the Filter Type

Sorry to be dense, but I don't see a "Filter Type" field in the Image Download Manager.

It is on the upper right corner. It is a drop down labeled "Filter Types"
Just choose "allow all"

Thanks, Rick and others.  I still can't find it.  We are referring to the Tools \ Image Download Manager, right?  In my version 5.0.8 Image Download Manager window, there is no dropdown labeled "Filter Types."

... In the upper right of my Image Download Manager window there is a dropdown titled "Sorted By:", which contains URL, Subject, Folder, Sender.  Below that are buttons for "Remove", "Download", "Create Rule" and "Download All", then "Clear List" and "Close", and a checkbox for "Show rules".  That's it.

In my case, all previous images are loading up just fine without any need for the previous link system. Your images, too should be fine provided they've not been moved and also if V5 is installed to the same directory that your V4 was.

Just in case you come across problems in loading those image, you may follow the directions in the screenshot posted above in this very same thread

You're most welcome. ;)

Just want to add that those help files and FAQs are pretty much outdated can't substitute the great assistance one receives on this forum.

Alas, I am finding that the "Allow All" setting in Image Download Manager does not stick -- I have to reselect it each time I run The Bat.  Have you all noticed that, am I missing something (else), or is it a bug?

and which mode is selected after restart?

what OS and version do You have?

"Generic View Mode", unchanged from default.

Version 5.08 Home; Win XP SP3.

not view mode, but download image manager mode

Sorry, but I don't know.  Can you tell me how to determine that?  (I searched the help files, etc., once again, and the only reference to Mode I found was in the View section; hence, my previous response.)

After every restart, the 'Filter Type' gets reset from 'Allow all' to 'Deny unknown' on Windows 7 (SP-1)

This is most certainly a bug as the other two options ('Allow all' and 'Deny all') from the drop-down menu are rendered redundant.

How to disable the deletion of old images from the cache (over 10 days)???

Battie, I can confirm not saving filter type mode and I have reported it to Bugtraq now.

Thank you, Marek - you guys rock this forum (I know this issue will now get sorted out in some future release.) :)
