How to debug filtering?, How ist it possible to find out, which filter(s) took effect?
 
With growing number of filters it is getting harder to understand, which filters took effect in what way.
A debbuging or at least logging capability would be required to understand thebat's behaviour.
Is there a way to get insight into the bat filtering decisions?
 
Enable logging of flters (in the account properties)
First filter that's triggered by the message is the only one that sees it, unless it has got subfilters (those see it too) or when it you've got continue processing with other filters (at the options tab) enabled
Common filters are done first and after that accpount based filters

Thanks. But where do I find it. I browsed the whole dialog twice. I can set smtp.log and pop.log. I can check
"Options -> Verbose log" and limit the size. But there is no checkmark for "logging of filters".
And when I inspect the account log, I only read entries about message transfer, conneting etc. but nothing concerning filters.
What am I doing wrong?

Disable verbose log and your log should show which filter was triggered by which message.
