Command Line Syntax for Run External Program with Filter

This syntax will pop up notepad to alert us as a filter:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\notepad.exe %1

But, in the window of notepad, it shows the ENTIRE email.

Rather than the WHOLE message, we would like a filter that pops up notepad but shows only the FROM and the SUBJECT lines.

How should we write that line?

We tried:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\notepad.exe %FROM

but that created an error.

Many thanks,

Use two actions. First export the message to a named file ("c:\temp\alert.txt") using a template containing:

then use the Run external action as

C:\WINDOWS\system32\notepad.exe c:\temp\alert.txt

how can I capture the whole messaga (%1) in a python script:

pyton "z:\fb send\" %1

and the script is:

import sys
print >> open('z:\\afsfa', 'a'),txt

Assign two actions to your filter, first action exports the message to a file, something like c:\test\message.txt
Second action runs external program, define the full path to the program, like c:\python\python.exe and add the proper pararameters, like the full path of the exported message.
