Saving mails, why lose the format?

Saving mails, why lose the format?, Editing mail in HTML, saving goes back to plain text. WHY?

When I do this, I'm using the HTML editor to mark up the reply. Why will TheBat! not save these HTML-formatted mails with my markup? TheBat! v4.2.42
