The Bat! An expensive client with no customer care.

Bought the bat! very long time ago. Asked several times for a very simple feature/bug correction ( 10mn of coding): To get rid of clicking hundred times on the "+" of each message link in a threaded discussion in order to get all the messages deployed. (to click the first message, and it opens all the discussion links  in a threaded view).
Years after, nothing has been done for that witch is obvious and standard.
Okay, i've paid a lot of money  to a company witch does nor care at all about his customers ?
i upgraded to version 5, witch look just a bug compilation and this features still not available. Will not downgrade, but uninstall.
By by the Bat!

That has been available since v1: Press * and the threads open, press * again and they close.

Users are not computers, They use their computer. Like everybody, i'm not able to remember specific shortcuts of hundreds of softwares.
It is one of the rules of good programming: you can only implement short cut as an add on. All the features had to be accessible by menus or symbols and mouse actions.
We are in a graphical interface; most of the features had to be available in a graphical and intuitive way. I asked this features to be on clicking the + symbol. This has no inconvenience, as opening only the next link to the nex message is just stupid and useless. This is obvious. You confirm the feature exists, so Why the devs does not satisfies after so many years this so simple request ?

This has to be that way: clicking to the "+" open all the links of this conversation in a threaded view (and the plus transform themself in a "-"). Clickink the "-" close what is under. Clicking the + of the next discussion close the previous thread if opened and open this next one.
Opening all the views at once is stupid too, because it takes a lot of room, and oblige-you to scroll miles.

Opening one level is just like other programs work. When I open a folder in the explorer it only shows me the next level, most programs work that way.
I'd probably start complaining if TB's behaviour would alter, though most of the time I jump from unread message to unread message with a self defined shortcut and when you jump to an unread message in thread it'll expand automatically.

However, it's also possible to configure your view mode such that it expands all threads by default. That might be more convenient for you.

Sorry, but i do not agree. All the programs using threaded views (specially Usenet readers like Xnews, gravity etc...) are  working the way i describe-it (i had edited my previous message) . Messages are not folders, they are single messages. And threathed view is for see how is organised a discussion in a single sight.
Opening all threads by default is just a pain, when you have hundreds of messages, as  it oblige-you to scroll during hours. And who wants to see how are organised already read discussions ?
You see a discussion with an unread message: you want to open-it, and see, in one sight how was the discussion. In this discussion there is an unread message ? you open-it in a click.
Then, you open the next unread discussion: it close the previous one with no more interest for you.
It is the well known way to manage threaded views, way before Internet exists. Why don't respect the habits when they have proven their perfect ergonomic ?

Is this request had been taken into consideration, 4 years after ? I'm not using The Bat! any more because of this and, so never updated the software..
At least, if you absolutely want to keep-it as it, why does not offer an option. "When clicking the + in a thread, open just the next message in the thread" and "When  clicking the +, Open all the thread".
By the way, I tried your "*" trick, the last time I used-it, and it does not worked.

The TreeView is a standard Windows control, and the keys to operate it are standard Windows keys.
If you don't know them, go buy yourself a good book printed no later than in 1999. They DO teach you the basics of the Windows UI and some useful keys to navigate it.

P.S.
And if you dislike the andwer people already gave you, it doesn't make it wrong. It just paints you ignorant.
