Installing The Bat! on SSD: Any advice?, SSD

The title is self-explanatory I believe;
I've had the Bat! installed on a conventional hard drive for years and now I must transfer everything to a SSD [running under a different OS too]
My main concern is to avoid *unnecessary* writes thus prolonging the SSD's lifespan.
[I'm sure you're aware of the tips the manufacturers are giving, e.g. turn off defragmantetion, move temp folders to a different hard disk and so on]

The question is HOW.
The "Mail" folder, which I want to keep separate, is approximately 700MB.
[I've already created a *.tbk backup - alternatively, I could always copy/paste the entire contents]
Could you please provide a *step by step* guide for a proper setup?
Thank you.

Anybody?
