Space character in HTML editor, MicroEd uses hA0 for spaces, disabling word wrapping in HTML Ed

I generally use MicroEd and edit all my mails in plain text format. Sometimes, however, I need to switch to HTML when a formatted message is needed. If I have already written text in MicroEd and switch to HTML mode this creates a problem: MicroEd uses character hA0 for spaces instead of h20, which means that text from MicroEd cannot wrap at word boundaries in the HTML editor.

At the moment I solve this by copying existing text to an editor, replacing all hA0 characters with h20 and pasting back into TheBat. This is a bit clunky, however. Is there a more elegant, integrated solution for this problem in TB?

BTW: The non-standard key assignments in the HTML editor (bold, underlined etc.) are quite annoying. This can't be changed in the program itself. Is there a config file you can edit to assign the standard key combinations like Ctrl+B for bold and so on?

I just tried to confirm what you say above and am unable to do so. Whether I use MicroEd or Windows compatible editor, spaces seem to me to be created using h20. In fact, I am unable to make TB create hA0 spaces in the current release. Okay - the current beta :).

As for definable keys, the next version of TB will have a completely definable UI .. toolbars, menus, keystrokes, the lot.

To get the effect I am describing you need to start editing in MicroEd mode, write some text, and then switch to HTML mode.

Of course, if you're not using the version that is available to normal users it's rather difficult to compare, isn't it? It would be most wonderful if you could disclose where I can get the current beta.

If I sound pissed off it's because I am. I'm getting more and more sick of the current version of TB. I've loved it for years but I am now seriously considering trashing it and moving on. It's full of bugs and inconsistencies. It frequently crashes or hangs when receiving mails with attachments sent from an Exchange Server. Support is non-existent, unless you call creating a ticket and then ignoring the user forever support. No issues whatsoever have been addressed since the original release of 30.01.33 last October.

If the product has been abandoned by the developers, which is very much what it looks like, it would really be very nice to know about it so that we can all start looking for an alternative right away.
