Two problems, deletion, mark read

Problem 1: Often when I highlight the mail and press delete, nothing happens. the message doesn't delete.

Problem 2: Often message gets stuck in unread state. no clicking, highlighting for any amount of time changes its state unless I restart the mail program.

Any help appreciated.

I have setup five gmail and google apps IMAP accounts. one pop3 with outlook..

In case these problems occur with your imap accounts, you could try to clear the cache for the problem folder(s)
Via the menu:
Folder -> IMAP specfic -> Clear cache now

I don'lt see any Clear cache option under Folder menu.

Another problem - when I click COMPACT on folder the popup comes up "1 IMAP folder in que" and stays like that permanently stuck unless I press cancel.

The clear cache action is only visible  after selecting imap specific and that's only available for the remote folders in your imap accounts.
Clearing the imap cache for all of your imap folders should also cure your other problem.

If you've got lots of imap folders this propcedure might be faster for clearing your imap cache:

This is how you clear the cache.

Close TB

Start windows explorer

Go to your mail directory

In your mail directory there is a directory for every account.

The imap accopunts have a subdirectory called IMAP

In that subdirectory you'll see a couple of file pairs with the extensions .TBB and .TBN, delete those

Start TB and everything should be ok afterwards.

If you don't know where your mail directory is located, check it in TB's se ttings:

Options -> Preferences -> System -> Mail Directory
