I am currently struggling with two problems with The Bat that should be minor, but which I cannot seem to solve. Any suggestions for solutions would be very much appreciated.
I have been using The Bat Pro for many years (I think that I started with version 1.x) but stopped updating at version 3.99 because it did everything I desired, and did it well. I have had almost no problems until last week, when the ISP who provides my e-mail service introduced a “new and improved” interface that – among other changes – required me to change my password to include at least one “special character”, such as #, *, or @.
In the process of changing the password (I added a * to the end of the existing password) that is automatically sent by The Bat when I log on to get my e-mail, I somehow created two problems. The first problem is that it appears to have created a new account inside The Bat with the same name as my old account, but with none of the subfolders that I had previously created, and with no messages in it. (This is confirmed by the file size, which is only 3kb.)
The existing account appears to be untouched, as a file manager shows it in the old location with a file size of several gigabytes. Any ideas about how I can get rid of what appears to be a new account, and have The Bat pull up the old account with the same name that contains all of my old messages?
The second problem is that every time I attempt to access any of the menu system (such as Properties or Download) a dialog box appears asking me for the account password. Any ideas about how I can turn off this behavior?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
