Extremely slow network access

I'm working with 2 computers on the same LAN network. The Bat! Version 3.0.1.33 is installed on both (Workstation with TCI/IP mode), and they share one common mail data base (TBB file), so one TheBat has local, and other one remote access. The problem is that TheBat which use TBB file over the network (remote access) is extremely slow. For xample, if I click to mail with attachment of 8MB, I have to wait few minutes to open it (and program is frozen in that time)!! The same procedure with TheBat with local access takes only few seconds. Normally, under Win I can transport file of 8MB very fast, so I can't see why local TheBat is fast and remote one is slow (maybe I made some mistake in settings of TheBat)? LAN is 100MBit, TheBat's TBB file is cca 7.5 GB. Can anyone give me some advice how to speed up my remote TheBat?

TB has to access a 7.5 GB file over the LAN and I'm afraid that that's the problem, not the mere 8MB attachment.

Try to minimize your .tbb file. 7.5 GB is quite substantial. Try to compress your inbox, if that doesn't help enough, create a new folder, move half of your messages there and compress your inbox afterwards.

Thank you for the answer. I reduced the size of inbox TBB file to 13.5MB, but the problem is same. On the local disc everything works fine, but if my TheBat tries to access TBB file on the remote disc over the LAN it freeze for a long time (only for the mails with big attachments, >1MB). I do not have problems with other programs with network access, so I suppose that the problem is not in the win LAN settings. If I can provide some more information, let me know.

I'm sorry for inconvenient, I found that the problem is not in TheBat program. I copied TBB file to another computer (same LAN) and everything works fine and fast.

Thank you! We've done our best for The Bat! to be fast on networks.

We have users in Germany who work with their headquarters in England via optical network. They keep the message base on server in England and use the messages base as shared files, and they confirm that the speed is fine. We've done serious optimisatons for them before The Bat! become so fast over a network.
