Email not really being deleted?, IMAP

HI FOLKS!

First time Bat user..... I am seeing some issues when deleting emails in THE BAT....

I own my own domain / email........ And when marking emails as deleted instead of them being deleted, when I look at my webmail, their just being marked as read?

I would like to have THE BAT move the emails to TRASH instead of just making them as read?

Can someone give me the directions on how to do that?

Thanks,
Christopher

I have seen that on Gmail IMAP. In that case google stores a copy of messages in an ALL MAIL folder. The only solution I have found in that case is to do it on the web every so often

Hi,

Nope, I am not using google apps.......

That would be kinda pointless to use THE BAT and still have to go to webmail to delete things / move things to folders :(

Thanks,
Christopher

In the case of Gmail, it is a built in issue.
This may not apply to this particular issue, If you don't have a drafts saved or other pending things in an IMAP account you can always go to
E:\The Bat!\***@gmail.com\IMAP (Pick an Imap account)
Clean out everything in the IMAP folder. It can fix a multitude of IMAP issues.

I recently found it's a matter for Compacting the folder(s) in order for the deleted messages to be removed from webmail. This topic explains further - https://www.ritlabs.com/en/forums/forum4/topic10659/

You can compact a folder by right-clicking and selecting Compact. (If you click Purge + Compact it may remove old read messages.)

I hope this helps.

Christopher, did you solve this?

I'm thinking this isn't a "Bat" problem. Rather it's a problem with how your email is set up to be read and removed from the Server. I too own my own domain, and I do not have this problem. Is your Mail Management set up to delete your Read messages from the Server?
Is your email set up as POP or IMAP? Mine is set up as POP.
