Sorry for a dumb question. I've probably missed it...
I've tried every setting in Preferences > Viewer/Editor > Editor Preferences No settings works, please tell me where I can find a setting to activate wordwrap.
I have the latest version of The Bat! Home Edition (licensed).
I assume you're using the MicroEd editor, as that relies on those settings. From my experience, word wrap is invoked automatically for the plain text and HTML editor. Good luck.
"To "preserve trailing spaces", enable the respective option. If the option is not enabled, any trailing spaces will be deleted once you start a new line. "
The default is unchecked. I am going to try this, since it may allow easy paragraph formatting just by putting in my 3 or five spaces. It will also help in anything that is like a table. Does that make sense?
=======
These are the settings that seem to be most related to world-wrap. They were default checked except auto-format and Windows editor. 70 characters is the default, and I am on 7.4.2 .
=======
If the "Auto-format" option is enabled, any change you make to the already entered text will reformat the paragraph. If you, for example, add an extra space it will be removed. If you intend to use it, remember that paragraphs in MicroEd are separated by empty lines meaning that you will need to press the Enter key twice to start a new paragraph.
To justify lines when the text wraps, enable "Justify on wrap".
"Wrap text at … characters" - Specify the maximum number of characters that a line should contain - each line reaching the defined right margin gets wrapped automatically.
If you want to automatically wrap text in the Windows Editor as well, enable the "Wrap text in “Plain text (Windows)” editor" option.
=======
And I am wondering if word-wrap is needed at all. Does the receiver in many email clients (especially Gmail) really get helped? I may have to test.
Have no idea yet if I want to check Auto-format. If I keep word-wrap.
Presumably justify changes the spacing to match the lines (e.g. to end without too many hyphens.) Sounds smart.
The Windows Editor wrap? Does that refer to how I will see it while composing?
