Hi I am new to The Bat,

I was trying to read an email from Youtube and I clicked the ! icon to allow images to be shown and some how instead of hitting the downward arrow to check what servers to allow I just clicked the yellow ! and now I cannot see images from youtube.


How do I fix this?

I reinstalled THE BAT and TB internal viewer will not show the preview image of my Youtube notifications

But, I switched to IE's viewer and I can see them just fine

Why is TB blocking the preview images?

The page where you set preferred viewer states that the TB! viewer is not susceptible to IE vulnerabilities. I encourage you to read more in the online help section of website to learn more of TB! features. If you do, you will see this statement:

 Internal HTML viewer ignores scripts and executable code preventing viruses and other malware from launching

I looked at the html source of a Youtube notification message, and noticed that the html code is covering the preview image with a transparant .png pixel stretched to the same size. When I view the message in The Bat, initially I see a solid mono-colored block where you'd expect to see the image. When I scroll the message down and back up, the filling of that block changes into colored stripes, suggesting that The Bat is having some difficulties displaying that transparent .png image. I think that's the problem here.

I've also run the Wireshark network monitor while I was viewing some Youtube notification mails in The Bat, and it looks like The Bat does retrieve the preview images (so, it's not skipping them for security/privacy reasons).

If my understanding is correct, you could file a bug report through the Support option in the menu above, and hopefully it will be fixed in a future version.

Under Voyager which should be the same as The Bat!
Menu | Tools | Image Download Manager

Search for the website and update as needed
