It may help if you share which version you're using. Gmail access requirements have changed in recent years and older versions of TB! may have problems.

I am using Home Edition 8.8.9 (32 bit)
I am running Windows 10 Professional 64 bit
May the 32 bit version be the reason for the Gmail problem (Allow button grayed out)

"This browser or app may not be secure. Learn more

Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can refresh your screen and try again to sign in."

I get this message on all recent versions of The Bat. Using 9.1.6 64-bit.

I believe you need to log into gmail.com and set to allow for access by less secure clients. I think the link to 'account permissions', just above 'Allow' may do that.

The account permissions link in my case is also unresponsive (doesn't react when clicked on)

How can I control (change) the browser that opens up this permission Gmail window?
It is I guess embedded in the program's code, meaning it can be done by the mailer's developer. Am I right here?

Just a guess, but I'd think that The Bat either launches Internet Explorer or Edge because it comes with Windows, or the system default browser, which can be changed (as explained here, for instance).
I volunteer as a moderator to help keep the forum tidy. I do not work for Ritlabs SRL.

It not helps, TB will be use it IE even if you have another default browser for Win.

Any updates on this issue?

Something has changed today, earlier this morning I could send and receive mail from my gmail accounts I have in TheBat!
Now it's all blocked - anyone know what's going on?
And, more importantly, what we need to change in our settings so gmail can be sent from TheBat! again.

Same here on my side - I can receive it emails from gmail but can't send.

I have the same problem , the "Allow" button on the Gmail authorization window is disabled / dimmed / graved / un clickable...
and there are still no solution I can found from TB forum or other place.

I also have this problem. All corporate communication had to be suspended. (G Suite)

@Ritlabs, is there any solution of this long-running blocker??? I`m using the latest version and still cannot authorize gmail and forced to enable 'enable less secure app access' on Gmail which isn`t secure from Google PoV.
I have the same - the 'Allow' button on the Oauth dialog if grayed out. Win 10, IE is up to date.

I use The Bat 9.4.1 and Windows 10.
The way I temporary solved this problem:

1) I allowed less secure apps to acess my Gmail account.

Link: https://myaccount.google.com/u/1/lesssecureapps

2) I changed the authentication metod in The Bat.

Menus:
Account > Properties > Transport
Then in "Receive mail" box, "Authentication" button, "Regular" option, OK.
After OK, it's opened a password box. I inserted my Gmail password there and then OK.

I tried the approach above (post #39) and it worked for a day or two then stopped. Every time I try to access that one gmail account I get a security warning and I have to click through that popup to get connected.

It would be nice if TheBat made it easier (or possible?) for us to set up a working secure connection to gmail.
