Reply triggers a bottom panel which I don't want, After re-installation on new computer

My templates do not include a bottom panel. Never happened before. Advice? Thank you.

It's unclear to me what you mean, but that may not be your fault :)

Is there a bottom panel in the message editor when you reply to a message? Does it only show when you reply, not when you forward a message or write a new one? What kind of bottom panel - maybe one for attachments? Did you check the viewer/editor settings in Options | Preferences?

I am trying to post a screen shot but I get a pop up dialog box about exceeding the screen size byte allotment. Advice how to post a screenshot properly? Tks.

You're need to use some image hosting site.

This forum don't have his own image storing feature.

Thank you for that. Will do that and post it later.

I had that too and after 2 days of trying everything, i went back to 9.2.5 and am reasonably happy again.

This is how to go back - it is the english translation of an earlier reply i got here.

The Bat! stores data and part of the settings in the mailbox folder, another part of the settings is stored in the registry.

To set up a program from scratch, you need to do the following:

1. Quit The Bat!

2. Open the mailbox folder using "Start -> Run ->% email% -> OK" (press the Windows key + R key combination to open the Run menu). This is your current mailbox folder.

3. Create a new folder for the mail database. For example, C: \ Mail

4. Open the registry editor using "Start -> Run -> regedit -> OK" and in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ RIT section, rename the "RIT" key to "RIT1".
5. Launch The Bat !, sel ect the "User-defined directory" option and specify a new folder for the mail database (C: \ Mail). Next, restore the data fr om the backup file.

To return to the original configuration, just shut down the program and rename the new "RIT" in the registry editor, and then return the name "RIT" to the "RIT1" key.

However, you can go the other way, creating a separate folder in the mail database:

1. Create another shortcut to thebat.exe file (C: \ Program Files \ The Bat!).
2. Right-click on the new shortcut, select "Properties". On the "Shortcut" tab, change "Object" by putting a space and "/ reg: test", while instead of "test" you can specify any name.
3. Run the program using a new shortcut.
4. The program will ask you to re-configure it. Select "User Defined Directory" and specify a new folder for storing data.
5. Next, you also need to uncheck all the boxes and enable "Do not notify and do not take any action."
6. Set up your mailbox and test the program.

You can run both copies of the program at the same time using the corresponding shortcuts.

Here is the image of the panel I do not want. To Mr John Madura, thank you for your lengthy reply but it would take a lot for me to think this is a default result for this program. I will consider it if this photograph does not help me to find a different answer.

Here is the hosted image of the screen. Thank you in advance.

George, the image link works for me in all browsers. Is that the link you state is broken?

The image link works for me now (it was broken earlier).

Can you right-click in the redundant panel and remove it? I don't see any attachments in your screenshot but it might be the attachments panel. If so, see also Workspace | Attached Files in the main menu.

It looks like attachments window, yes. If no -
May be this is quick reply? To on/off you're need to open menu Workspace and press "quick reply".

Julia at Ritlabs Support solved this successfully for me by the following:

1. Close The Bat!
2. Open your Registry Editor via "Start -> Run -> regedit -> OK"
3. Find the "Editor" folder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!
4. Rename that folder (for example, into Editor2)
5. Launch The Bat! and see if the problem disappeared

Thanks to all who added thoughts to my query.
