What font was specified in the HTML code of the message? Apparently the HTML interpreter in The Bat used an unsuitable substitute for it. It might be helpful if you send both the html message and the screenshots to Ritlabs technical support (see 'Support' in the menu above) - if you do, please mention your versions of Windows and The Bat.
About images not downloading, I'd recommend that you read this recent topic:

About images not downloading, I'd recommend that you read this recent topic:
The font was Roboto, and it turns out that was missing from my system. I installed it and that resolved the font issue
As for images, usually they come in, or I see the button to download the, but rarely, I get no images and no button like the example. I will try the suggestions in the link you posted
