Outlook POP with OAuth2/Modern Auth and TheBat

Is there any way to get The Bat configured to work with Outlook POP with OAuth2/Modern Auth? The OAUTH Authorization option is always grayed out. The Bat v10.5.3.2

All new oath-things RitLabs do on actual versions. Try v11 trial on other PC. Is it works?

Sorry, I don't have such exchange postbox to check it.

Also, see if there is some way to configure this on the server side. GMail has some pages to do such things, with Microsoft I don't know.

What I have got recently from Microsoft:

If you are receiving this email, you are currently using an email or calendar app that uses a less secure authentication method to connect to your Outlook.com email account. You will need to upgrade your third-party mail and calendar app to a version which supports modern authentication methods.

Then they have provided that link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/modern-authentication-methods-now-needed-to-continue-sync... claiming that I need to update settings in my email client or upgrade to version which will support it. Based on options available in v10.5 it should to work but I'm not able to get it to work as is greyed out (inactive).

Try the newest v11 (trial version should be enough) as George recommended above. Microsoft made some changes since v10.5 which were implemented in v11 but not in v10.

Hi.... I'm using v11.2.2 (64-bit)....... The OAUTH Authorization option is always grayed out when the Outlook POP server, outlook.office365.com, is selected.....  Hence I cannot use any outlook or hotmail account with The Bat......  :(

Is there any way to fix this?

IMAP should work. For POP, it is either a matter of configuring something on the server side (if possible) as I wrote above, or TB not supporting this particular combination (Outlook+OAUTH+POP).

Yes. It works with IMAP.  Since it's not possible to configure the server side, it should be that TB is not supporting Outlook+OAUTH+POP.  At least I IMAP works..... Thank you!!!!  :)

I will confirm that Outlook/IMAP works, and in a slightly complex TB setup/environment (6 other accounts, with variable checking parameters, and lots of filters).

[Clueless user warning:  The following is fairly lame (for which I apologize).  And, it's especially embarrassing given that I'm a relative "power user" in other matters]

I was most reluctant to try this, given that I have used POP exclusively for 20+ different email addresses/accounts over some 35 years, largely to be able to properly organize messages into folders.  But, TB allows messages to be moved out of the IMAP-specific folders into other folders.  And, distracting server-level folders can be ignored in TB.

It takes a while for the message counters to update at times.  And, I do get some IMAP connection errors.  Some of the IMAP-specific settings still don't make any sense to me.  But, in the main, Outlook/IMAP is working.  And, it complies with the new Microsoft requirements, so I can still get my critical e-mail even after the 16 Sept. hard deadline.

Sorry for waxing long.  But, I thought my experience might have some value for some future user.

Yep, it's a workaround. Or ugly users like us can redirect all emails from kind Microsoft boxes to the normal pop3 email box.

That good and kind empires think that can break us with fabricated restrictions. They can't.

This ugly user has been doing that with GMail from the start :D

Recent beta versions claim to have fixed POP3 with Outlook servers, see here: https://www.batboard.net/thread/16140-the-bat-11-2-2-9-beta/

The newest beta is https://www.batboard.net/thread/16141-the-bat-11-2-2-10-beta/

We can expect the next stable version (traditionally the Halloween Edition) to include these.

Hoping that it's a solid release this time :-)
