Cannot configure Gmail's IMAP Trash folder, because "there is a folder with name Trash"

I want to change the Column Settings for my Gmail Trash folder, but it won't do it because TB! already has a Trash folder.  The system error dialog says to rename it, but there is no way to do that.

Please help.

I think you need to do this: Account -> Properties -> Mail Management -> For pre-defined folders, use these IMAP mailboxes

Make sure the checkbox for Trash is checked, and sel ect [Gmail]/Trash fr om the appropriate drop-down menu. (You can do the same for Sent Mail).

Then you should have only one Trash folder, connected to the one on the Gmail side.
