Images missing when copying selection from html message to other program

Dear The Bat! Users!

I use The Bat! v.11.5.2 64-bit.

When I try to copy a fragment of an HTML message and paste it into another program, such as MS Word, the text is copied correctly, but the images are not. Instead of each image, an empty frame appears.

Has anyone encountered this behavior? Is there any way to change it in the settings?

Thank you in advance for any advice,

Łukasz

I’ve run into similar behavior with The Bat! before - it’s usually not a Word issue but rather how The Bat! handles copying HTML content to the clipboard. In some cases, images aren’t actually embedded during the copy process, so Word only receives placeholders, which show up as empty frames. You might try adjusting the HTML viewer/copy settings in The Bat! or using “Save as HTML” and then opening the file in Word instead of copying directly. Another workaround that sometimes helps is pasting first into a browser or a lightweight editor before moving it into Word. If none of these work, it’s likely just a limitation of how The Bat! exports HTML content to other applications.

Dear Miguel,

thank you for your reply. I am aware that this is not a MS Word problem, it was just an example.

It acutually seems that this is a flow in The Bat's handling HTML messages while copying.

I found one workaround - when I open the message in rich text editor (by - for example - replying to it) I can copy the whole content including images.

Nevertheless, as there is apparently no way to change the behaviour in reading mode, I will report it to Ritlabs as a problem.

Thank you again,

Łukasz
