Setting a fixed charset for replies ?

Hi,

I have some strange problem (TB 3.0.1.33). When I reply to some message, the charset of the reply seems to be selected randomly in most cases.

Sometimes the status bar in the reply window shows some encoding, but in most cases it shows 'Default', and if I right click there to view the list of encodings - 'None'

Then when I put the msg in the outbox and view the source, the charset could be any - and as a general rule does not match the charset defined for the message I reply to.

So far this was not a problem, but already is because more and more people seem to set their antispam software to accept only emails using some western encoding.

How to solve this problem?
Or at least how to set a fixed encoding for replies, as there is no option to specify this in the reply template (unlike the template for new messages)

Thanks

The charset identity problems have been noted before in bug reports. They are more insidious than simply tripping up SPAM programs; they also cause other programs to mis-identify the encoding and fail to display languages like Japanese and Korean properly.

The problem seems to exist only with the plain-text editors, not HTML; but many of us prefer not to use HTML. I hope this one is fixed soon, so I can go back to using The Bat!

Specifying an encoding in the template, by the way, does not work. It is ignored.
