Cleint /Server Mode

Hi,

I've just taken over running a small network that uses The Bat! for email.

So far, I'm quite impressed by it, and might suggest using it in a few other networks that I admininster.

I have one problem though, and would appreciate any comments /help.

The current version in use is The Bat Professional version 3.0.1.33.

The Bat! is used in a server/client configuration, with one machine (the file server) configured
as a TCP/IP or Dial out server; and the three workstations configures as Workstation with TCP/IP.

It works well and the only problem that I am aware of is the occasional crash that loses some messages.

With that in mind I decided to update to the latest version of The Bat. Before doing so,
I downloaded the lastest version (3.71) and installed it in a test lab situation.

The lastest version does not have appear to have an option under Options/Network and Administration to
change between Server and Workstation mode.

Question:

Can the later versions of The Bat! be used in the same server /client manner as the earlier versions, or has this changed?

Many thanks in advance.

Gerry

Somewhere around version 3.2 Ritlabs stopped supporting server/client modes,

Many thanks - it's a pity, as it is a great function for a small network where everyone needs to keep abreast of developments. Reminds me of when microsoft had the "Post Office" prior to the development of Exchange.

C/S mode was removed in 3.65.03
