Outlook does show my folders i created in hotmail however.
Any ideas?

CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE CONFIGURATION OF HOTMAIL SO I CAN SET UP HOTMAIL IN THE BAT  WHEN I USED OUTLOOK EXPRESS IT TOOK CARE OF IT FOR ME BUT NOW I HAVE OUTLOOK AND I HATE IT AND IT WONT TAKE MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANT INFO ANYONE HAS THX  [FONT=Arial][COLOR=blue]

AFAIK Hotmail (at least free Hotmail, not sure about paid versions) does not provide pop3 or imap access, so it can not be used with theBat (or any email app except OE).
Hotmail<-->Outlook Express communicate using some non-standard protocol which is supported only by OE.
I remember there were some third party tools which emulate pop3 access to Hotmail and so allow using Hotmail accounts with pop3 clients - you should look for one of these. Google for "hotmail pop3" or alike.

I just purchased The Bat! Pro (latest version) and I cannot configure it for my hotmail account! My comcast account works just fine and was easy to set up. HELP!

Try one of these utilities: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/pop3-on-hotmail.html

I guess it's just to much to actually read the message you're rep[lying to, isn't it?

Apart from their webinterface Microsoft uses a proprietary protocol to download mail from hotmail, therefore only Outlook Express can download from it. So you need a third party tool that acts as a pop3 server for TB and as a webclient for hotmail.

Anothe option would be to drop your hotmail account and register for gmail, that's a free account that supports pop3.

Hmm... Some weeks ago I tried to connect to free Hotmail account (HTTP protocol) with Outlook/OExpress.

Server rejected me with something like "Hotmail no longer accessible from this client".

Do you know real alternatives with pure HTTP connect except except Yahoo and Hotmail....

Outlook will works but you need the complete version at 30$ per year

Hello,

It's not a good idea to have a hotmail account.

To read Hotmail in a POP3 client I'd recommend you try the free MrPostman application as your "email server" to access your Hotmail account(s).  It is available from Source Forge.

See http://sourceforge.net/projects/mrpostman/ or http://mrpostman.sourceforge.net/

Once installed, and having installed Java runtime or better as well, you just add another email account pointing to the MrPostman application (see documentation in the application).

Other than using applications like this you can't get at your Hotmail emails form any normal (POP3/SMTP) email clients, even The Bat!
