Open the link that starts TB for you. Add /nologo to the comandline.

I kinda like the new logo, much nicer than the usual 2.xx versions and 1.xx except I always liked the xmas edition.. so I am hoping to get another updated bug fix possible improvements SOON!

Select the icon on the desktop
Right mouse click -> Properties Go to the 'link' tab (I've got a Dutch Windows, so I cannot give the exact English names) The you'll see some thing like 'target' with the value: "C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe" (your path may differ. Change that into: "C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe" "/nologo" (Don't forget parameters and program need to be enclosed in their own set of quotation marks.)

I set to default email client The Bat in Win.
And when I open it with the Keyboard's Email button. It starts the program file directly. So I cant use this shortcut modification. I put an empty batlogo.xml file to the program location. Now the Splash doesnt apper. But it takes a few sec to start the program (because the Splash is still there but its invisible). Is there any way to completly disable the splash screen load? Or modify the showing time? Thank you! |

It describes how to make a moded shurtcut to the program. But how can I modify the program file to disable the splash? |

It is disabled via the command line so you must change the properties of your link/shortcut and add the "/NOLOGO"
Roelof gave perfect directions. If you are not sure open a DOS prompt, navigate to the bats folder and try it from the command line The only thing to add is that this is the only way I know of to disable the splash screen. There is no internal feature to configure it to not show |

I have done some tries in the registry the way that Win calls the program.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\The Bat!\shell\open\command I changed the default key From: "C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe" To: "C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe" "/NOLOGO" It works fine, there isnt any splash screen, BUT just for the first time. Because ThaBat! changes back to the original key after the first load  But what if I change the default email client to a link (that points to the thebat.exe with a parameter: nologo). Is it possible? Im out of ideas. Please make an option in TheBat v4 wich can remove simple the splash screen! I think that people who bougth this program would appreciate to start it with no splash screen! BTW its not a cheap software. |
