If you lose your view modes

Suddenly my view modes stopped working, after The Bat! generated a blue screen error.

No matter what folder view I selected, one would always cancel out the other... i.e. if I selected Threaded View in folder A, all folders would become Threaded View... if I selected Generic View in folder B, all folders become Generic View... this happened both in Right-click folder > Folder View Mode and Right-click folder > Properties > Column Settings.

I was able to solve this issue as follows:
1. Delete all used view modes (this resulted in a few memory access violations).
2. Close and restart The Bat! (not sure if this is needed).
3. Define new view modes.
4. Apply new view modes to folders.

It might be enough to just define new view modes without deleting the old ones... but since the old ones stopped working anyway...

It seems that once a view mode goes crazy, there's no way you can ever get it right again.

Try to rename your tbuser.def (tbuser.eef when you're doing otfe) file in your mail directory while TB is closed.
See whether this helps.
