Folder compression issue

You can change that. Select your inbox and pick in the menu:
Folder -> Properties -> Additional -> On exit: Compress

Apart from that, 1500 messages is a lot in your inbox, it looks like they're mostly things you want to store. It's best to store those in a separate folder, that diminishes the chance that your inbox gets corrupted (big high traffic folders are prone to corruption.)

Using a client like TB with a sophisticated filtering engine hardly makes sense when you forget to filter your inbox. ;-)
