Connect only gets 50 emails

When I first connect to my POP3 server in the morning, TheBat just retrieves the first 50 emails, if I then immediatly connect again, it then retrieves all the rest (usually several 100). Is there a reason for this ?

Never heard that before. Did you check your log for info?

OK, I just increased my log size and turned on protocol logging. I'll report back next time it happens.

I have started to have this.  I think it started when I upgraded to v4.0.18, or to v4.0.24.  It never happened when I was using v3.xx.

I know that this limited forst "blink" is happening because (a) the Connection Centre shows it's downloading xx of 50, and (b) all my email comes in via my local email server VPOP3 so can see exactly how many emails are in each mailbox before & after this first "blink".

I've hunted around for a setting to change, but can't find one, so just live with the 50 then rest situation, mainly because I've set the Periodic Period to just 5 minutes.

It happens to me too,

i had to download 15.000 mail message !!!

Each time it checked email, would just download 50.

I still can't confirm this behaviour.
Never had any issues like this with any version.
Currently I'm using 4.0.28 and this morning I started with 189 new messages and they were downloaded all at once.
So it might be a restriction of your mail server.

Just configured a clean TB in a different user account with Vista. The first time TB connected with the server, it downloaded 2330 messages. There were no more available.
Only non default setting was that I enabled 'leave messages on server' as I didn't want to empty my test mailbox.
Total of mail was 25MB, most messages were small plain text messages, some had attachments and were up to 6MB.
