data recovery, restoring old data

I recently lost access to my hard drive but I copied the bat directories and files regularly to another drive with MS synctoy.  How do I re-install that Bat so that I don't have to import each and every message base file.

install TB, close it, then just put the backed up files from your old mail folder into the new mail folder.
Mail folder can be viewed/changed via Options -> Preferences -> System -> Mail directory

Hi
I have the same kind of problem, but I reinstalled on another HD my windows XP and The Bat.
I had my data saved on D: instead of C:
So I thought that using a backup from 6 months ago (because stupid like I can be I didn't make one more recently) would allow me to put back all data necessary for connecting to my Internet Provider.

But as the fokder D: The Bat already has all the subfolders ( 3 accounts and all their subfolders) the restore tells me it cannot write or access that part.

I have now copied all the data from D: The Bat to H: The Bat and emptied D: The Bat .

Should I uninstall then reinstall The Bat and try to restore first the old backup and then copy the data  form H: The Bat to D: The Bat.

Thanks for any help.

And to think that I use The Bat also at work where I installed the backup system. But I never thought of it at home.

bigg one,

That was huge for those of us that back up by duplicating directories, and their files, on other drives!

The CRITICAL piece is to change the Mail folder (i.e. the *root* Mail folder)via:

Options -> Preferences -> System -> Mail directory

Once that is done all the emails and directory structure reappears in The Bat! like nothing ever happened.

This should be documented better as I am sure this is how many people backup files.

Thank YOU!    :-)
