default Active Account
 
I have 5 email accounts.  Currently one is the default active account.  When I reply to an email it's email is always inserted as the from email address.  I would like to change that to another account/email address.  How do I do this, ie changed the active account on all common folders?
 
Account -> Properties -> General -> This account is the default....

When writing a message, the editor shows the used account in the status bar, clicking on it with the mouse gives you the oppurtunity to change the active account for the current message.

Another way to influence the used account is with the %Account= macro in a folder template.

Yes, it is that particular status bar account that concerns me.  I have changed this at that location but it is only switchable for that particular message.  The default is still another account that I prefer to change rather than change it on each and every message.

The problem lies in Common Folders that are not a sub-folders of a particular account.  The default account for all common folders is, at least in my case, the first "alphabetical" account.  This is a more private email address and when I reply to a message after it has been filtered to a Common Folder they all have the wrong account in the status bar.  A work-around is to change the identity in the properties part of each Common Folder.  This does change the from address but doesn't changed that status bar tag which makes me wonder if the incorrect email address is still buried somewhere in a hidden header on outgoing emails.

Thanks for the %Account idea.  I will play with that and see what results from that.
 
The address that you use (s specified by the identity settings of the folder) doesn't have to be the same as the from address of the used account. So don't let that confuse you.
