mark message read when replied, mark message read when replied

hi all
I'm a newcomer both on forum and on thebat email client.
I miss a major functionality from my point of view.
Really I don't get it why a message remains UNREAD when I allready replied to the message. I mean it's obviously that a message is read when a person replies to it, no ?
(i disabled mark message read when viewing more than x second).

TB's default moment of marking a message as read is after reading it more than x seconds, but that's configurable.
You can also have TB mark messages asread after opening them in a seprate window.

Marking a message as read after you've replied to it can be done too. Create a read messages filter that marks the message as read. (Read messages filters are executed on the original message, not the reply.) Use 'any message' as condition and set 'mark as read' as action. (The 'mark as read' action can be found under the 'flags' section of the actions.)

Thank you for your answer.
I did all you suggested but message is not marked as read when I replied to it.
Do I need to do anything else other than create the filter as you said ?
It's marked for any folder.
I even re-filtered the Inbox but no luck.

Of course it won't work. 'Read messages' filters are executed as the message gets marked as read. I should have told you to create a 'Replied messages' filter.
That will work, I tested that over here.

Works like a charm. Was my fault, it was obvious that should be on replied messages.
