The Bat - I Love It!!

HI,
I'm new to The Bat.  I'm still in the 30 day trial period
although purchasing it is inevitable :)

In the last two weeks I've downloaded AK-Mail, Courier, PocoMail, Pimmy, Emailaya and currently use Incredimail(well, not anymore..lol)

I had no intention of trying The Bat as I knew from reading
that the learning curve was huge and I am not computer savvy.
Well, after testing out the others I found that they either
Didn't work right
Didn't have a tutorial
Didn't have a full working trial period
Had to pay in cash, money transer or check to another counry
Layout and structure quite confusing or
Simply didnt or couldn't do what I wanted it to do.

After all that I thought, "ok, I'll give this Bat thing created for computer
programmers a try.    I have to say...this is exactly what I was looking
for!!  The Bat is no more difficult to learn than any of those other programs.
Keep in mind that I dont need a lot of what The Bat offers but The Bat also doesn't force
me to know the other things in order to use what I do need.
This is the only program I tried where setting up more than one account actually worked.
PocoMail came close and if It would have worked properly I wouldn't be writing this email...lol
I have been able to customize so much in The Bat and it was easy to figure out.
There were only a few times that I needed to go to the forum and the help section.
For me, The Bat works great!!!

I guess you cant always believe what you read :D

Randy, I'm a long-time user of The Bat! I've tried several of the "other" prorgrams that you mention. And even though I have a running copy of T-Biry, I ALWAYS come back to The Bat!  For me, there is NO OTHER PROGRAM as powerful, configurable or reliable as The Bat!

Gents,

I have to agree. I also - thanks to Marck, am a long time r TB user. (2002 or 3 I think)

What a great program, in all that time it has never failed me once or needed re-booting.

Try that with some other "well known" email clients..  :D

Cheers

Randy, I agree with you.

I am a returning user to The Bat! Pro, after trying everything like you, plus Mozilla's Sea Monkey, Thunderbird, Foxmail, Eudora, etc, etc, and I tell you nothing even came close to the rich assortment of features this program offers. It has all the best features from what I liked in the other programs.

I bought TB in Jan 2007, after reading a glowing (no contest) review of most free and paid e-mail clients on donationcoder website, and they gave me a nice 30% discount to buy it through them.

Critics of The Bat said it is an email client most suited for spamming, and many antispam software blocks email from the Bat. Well you can't believe everything you read as you said!

I exported all my .pst mail to .eml and and the Bat imported all 20K emails before I knew it.

Plus what I really like is this Backup program they added to in the 3.9x.x versions.

Your post gives me peace of mind that I made the right decision to commit all my business communications to The Bat. People are amazed at the speed the Message Finder can scan all 20K messages.

And since 4.0.14 was released it has been running 24/7 without a problem.

Can't wait to see what v.4.1 has in store for us. HTML templates would be nice.

Cheers!

In these forums there is a lot of support going on which often devolves into bitching. This thread is a breath of fresh air. Thanks!

I left the bat for a while and moved to another client but kept running into walls - things that just couldn't be done. Obviously I moved back  8)

Well it's a cracking product..  :D In another form (for corporate policies sake) I am forced to use.... Shudder... outlook...   shudder - it's flippin horrible, close with error, reboot etc etc..
Cheers

What do you think of v4.1.x

I still run 4.0.34 and have not a problem, but maybe its time to move on.

Anyone got an experience with it so far?

Cheers.

I upgraded to what is now 4.1.11.

Works for me  ;) And HTML sigs if that's your thing..
Cheers

I also use 4.1.11 and not a single problem with it.  :)
The only thing that bothers me is that the latest version of my firewall-program (Outpost Security Suite) don't seem to like TheBat! very much :(

But I wouldn't want to use another e-mailclient.
