Is there a way to stop asking about images in Junk folder, Is there a way to stop asking about images in Junk folder

I've upgraded from v3 to v4.0.14, and love the new "get images" feature.

BUT ...

When going into the Junk folder, mainly to delete spam emails, The Bat! still tries to download linked images by asking if I'd like to download them.

It would be really good if this feature was, or could be, disabled for the Junk (& Delete) folder.  Thunderbird dosen't try to display messages with the HTML formating in its Junk folder, and The Bat! should be just as good in this area.

I propose a new settings in the FOLDERS PREFERENCES.

"Download images" -> "Always, Use Download manager, Never".
This way, you could set your spam folder to Never download image, your main inbox to ask, and your friend folder to always download.

I am a new Bat user, but I think if you uncheck the the box in the lower right corner - "show this window automatically" then the URL manager won't pop up while you are deleting mail in your junk folder.

Then, if you want the URL manager to pop up again, when you are in another email that has a little earth icon on the toolbar, on the right side, with a question mark on it, click on that icon.  Choose "show URL manager"  When the URL manager pops open, then you can check the "show this window automatically" and the URL manager will be popping open for you again.

At least that's the behavior I've noticed.  I think it is better than Thunderbird's, and Eudora didn't even have this option.

hope this helps.

Do you mean "lower left corner" in the "Download URL Manager"?

Yes, I could do it manually each time I move to and from the Junk folders (multiple as I have multiple accounts set up), but doing this will be a pain in the ass

Obviously you haven't looked at how Thunderbird displays messages once they've been moved to the Junk folder.

Yes, sorry. Lower left corner in the URL manager.

Actually, for me, having the URL manager pop up all the time is a PIA. I turn it off, and only use it from within a message.

No, that's not obvious.    I use Thunderbird everyday for hotmail and yahoo (I don't know if TB! can check these).  And, Thunderbird's "image" handler is a Toggle button - it will let you download images in your junk folder, if you open the junk-email and click on the button.  You get all or nothing.

With TB!, you can choose which folders and/or files to allow. Some images are tags (they tell the company you've read the email) and some are just images. The URL Manager lets you pick which ones you want to download - or all of them if you want. You could open a junk-email and none of the images are going to open, and it will let you choose which ones you do want to open. So, to me, the more options the better.

Sorry that what I wrote was not helpful. Like I said, I'm a new user, so I'm just getting used to all the features.
