the Bat! v4.0.20 bug, not the default e-mail client for a non-admin account

Just like the v4.0.18 the v4.0.20 is not possible to be made the default e-mail client for a non-administrative user account at winXP-SP2.

Unfortunately that isn't a bat thing, but a windows thing. When you change the default mail client for the admin account, it changes for all non admin accounts too.

You seem to miss my point completely.

1) All versions of the Bat! prior to the v4.0.18 were settable as the default e-mail client in my LUA (non-administrative) account on winXP-SP2
2) There is NO way to make the Bat! v4.0.18 and the current v4.0.20 the default for a non-admin account

I do assign the Bat! as the default client - SYSTEM-wide - from the administrative account (quite obviously, there is no other way to install|update a program from a LUA).
I do promote my main account from LUA to the Administrators group for the very first start of the updated the Bat! - to see and make it the default e-mail client.

When I downgrade my main account to the LUA - the Bat! is no longer the default e-mail client there!

I'm sure, this is the bug introduced while they were making the Bat! Vista-ready - to support Vista's UAC facility.

Well, you're following a different procedure than I did when installing 4.0.18
I installed TB via my admin account
Ran it and set it as default mail client
logged off
Started my main account
Ran TB and set file associations (when prompted)
This was under Win XP home

I did it so with an update over V3. I have the same problems like the OP. The Admin-Account works, but with the No-Admin-Account (two) it is not possible to make the settings.
XP-Home.

No, you just re-phrase what I've attempted to say:
1) I log-in as an admin
2) install|update the Bat!
3) start it and assign it as the default
4) check if OS sees the Bat! as the default (Control Panel->Internet Options->Programs)
5) promote my regular account to the Administrators group
6) log off
7) log-in as my regular account
8) start the Bat! and check if it is the default (which it is by that very moment!)
9) downgrade my regular account to the LUA
10) log off
11) log-in again as regular account
From now on the Bat! v4.0.18+ is no longer the default e-mail client for the LUA.

I was curious enough to check if those associations are actually NOT set in the registry - it turned out they ARE set, but it is the Bat! v4.0.18+ that THINKS they are not...

Just updated to the v4.0.24 - the same bug as in the v4.0.18, v4.0.20 - it notifyes me of not being the default e-mail client if launched from a LUA.
