Every message has a message.html attachment - WHY?, How can I get rid of this and not let it be created?

 Extremely irritating esp when one forwards a message to someone he/she ends up with this useless attachment.  Any thoughts?

it's not every message but only html formatted ones.
Attachment is there so that you can see the message with all the formatting etc. in a browser. You can delete these attachments like any others.

Thanks for the reply.  True, I can delete them but practically every message has this attachment and it's a real pain.  Eudora (from which I've recently migrated to) didn't have this "problem".

Thanks for the help

whats the problem with it? I did not understood why it is irritating

I do a lot of mail forwarding and its obstructive to get an unnecessary attachment.  I know I don't like it so the same applies to those I send mail to.  Is this that big an issue that it can't be eliminated ?

try to set a manually trigerred filter with condition 'Any message' and action 'Forward..' - there you can check the option 'Do not include attachments'
Then instead of clicking forward button press the filter hotkey

Ok but then if I want to forward attachments (which I often do) I'll be in a bind.  Basically I just dont' want to be forwarding html mails to people.  Apprecaite the help

I also find this annoying. I just don't understand why the bat! does it when no other email program nor web-based email does. Or maybe they do but they hide it, I don't know, but I wish the bat! would behave the same way.

We also find this a problem as we have some users in our organization that aren't particularly familiar with e-mail. We often find that the unnecessary attachment confuses people, as the less technical among them don't know which attachment is important and what is not.
Please consider this another vote to provide a way to disable this feature.

Most people don't know that their mailer is creating both a plain text part and an HTML part (often with excessive formatting and reformatting of the text (if you don't know what I mean, please ask)) and don't know that they can change the format to text only or possibly even HTML only.
