Dad noticed an inconsistency working with his address book. He added a contact to Personal Address Book then when he added the contact to one of the groups (checked the group from the list) that contact disappeared from being listed in Personal Address Book while showing in the group. Other contacts show in both Personal Address Book and in the groups they're put into.
I was thinking that there might be duplicate records when they show up in both PAB and the groups, but when he changes something in one it changes in the others. When he copied and pasted the contact, then it would show in both locations but changes to one still made changes to the other, showing that it's not a separate contact.
Does anyone know what is going on with this?
Could we get some additional address book tools to deal with duplicates? In one case, it would be nice to copy an entire contact then change the name (multiple family members with all the same data except name and email). In another, it would be nice to be able to search for duplicate contacts, perhaps comparing name or email address (I had some duplicate contacts where one had some data and the other had other data, possibly some overlapping). A tool to delete or combine duplicates (choose which data from each copy to use) would be nice.
