Integration with NOD32

I think that you must actively support developement of such plug-ins. It would be a very big plus for the product to offer such widespread integration with other must-have products.

imon doesn't scan for example non standard ports when you use secure connections. it doesn't see them

I have personally approximately 40 testers of this plugin, it is working for them with no problem. Which version of The Bat! and NOD32 You have?

That's right, and using the plugin doesn't allow it either. I don't see how using the plugin does anything different than not using the plugin with NOD32.

I agree also. You don't need a plugin for NOD32 to work with The Bat. As I said before, when I tried the plugin it did absolutely nothing more than if I hadn't used the plugin. The plugin appears to be nothing more than a software placebo. If I'm missing something, I wish someone would point it out.

First of all, IMON in NOD32 will be enough protection for many users, but IMON can't protect all areas:

- when is connection secured by SSL/TLS

- when are messages with attachments encrypted by PGP/SMIME

- when are messages splitted to more parts

In these cases, IMON have no choice to check messages for viruses. TB sends messages to NOD32 via plugin when they are received.

My apologies...No, I don't understand, that's why I post questions in this forum. The problem is, I (and others) practically have to beg for answers because nobody is answering our questions. I do thank you for taking the time to address this issue.

How can I be sure of this? I have a few email accounts with a TLS connection. I'm aware that NOD32 does not scan the emails with this connection. I tried the plugin and didn't think it worked either. For example, I have NOD32 set up to add a footer to all incoming emails which basically says "
This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. The only time this message does not appear is with accounts using the TLS secured connection. When I tried the plugin, I thought the message would be added but it was not. I may be wrong here, but if the plugin worked with the TLS connection, should the NOD32 message have been added? Is there any way I can tell that the plugin is working for the TLS connection? I suppose I could somehow test it with the eicar file but if there is another way, please let me know.

1) The Bat! doesn not allow any plugin to add text to messages, so if You are using antivirus plugins, You will not see any text "Message is virus-free" etc.

2) Antivirus plugin do nothing with protocols, this is TB's part. When is message recived, imported into msgbase and You have Checking of incoming messages enabled, message is sent via plugin to NOD32 and TB is waiting, what antivirus returns.

If You have message with virus in your folder, try to checking it via "Folder | Check for viruses" and watch Log file, if was virus detected via antivirus.

In NOD32, You can watch protocol of plugins, every virus-infected message found via plugin "The Bat!" is stored there

That's a setting in ESET Nod32 that you can change..
